With the year drawing to a close, we’re looking forward to the furniture styles, colours and interior design trends set to define 2023. From up-to-the-minute shades like sage green and ‘digital lavender’ to social furniture, read on for the scoop on interior design trends for 2023.

Timeless shades are here to stay

Colour is one of the most effective ways to channel trends and refresh your home. But most people don’t have the time, motivation or budget to reimagine their interiors every year. This is where timeless shades come in:

Sage Green

While some colour trends come and go, sage green has staying power. The earthy and organic shade is a fantastic way to bring the outdoors in, without overpowering your space. This versatility is sure to make it one of the top interior trends for 2023.

It’s understated enough to use with larger items of furniture, for example, a sage green sideboard. The soft hue also pairs beautifully with natural textures. In our Florence sage green furniture collection, you’ll see the colour set off beautifully by natural elements like limed acacia wood tops and wicker-style baskets.

Navy blue

Navy is another colour with the power to transcend short-lived trends. Make a statement with a navy dining table and accessorise with plant stands and side tables. For big-time drama, invest in larger items like glass-fronted display cabinets and dressers.

A new era of serene

The past few years have been challenging, so it’s no surprise serene shades will dominate colour trends in 2023.

Wild Wonder

In 2023, global paint giant Dulux has announced a soft, golden shade called Wild Wonder as the Colour of the Year. The company describes the pale yellow colour as a “beautiful, distinctive and versatile shade of warm neutral” with undertones of green and soft gold. As the name suggests, Wild Wonder was created to capture the beauty of the natural world, with the hope to inspire creativity and bring a sense of positivity into the home. If you don’t want to repaint, accessorising with yellows and golds is an easy way to embrace colour trends in 2023.

Digital Lavender

Every year, the interior design world holds its breath for the Pantone Colour of the Year announcement. While nothing has been confirmed, industry experts predict a pastel shade called Digital Lavender will take the interior trends 2023 crown.

Joanne Thomas, head of content at colour consultancy group Coloro says Digital Lavender symbolises the “stability, serenity and digital escapism that so many of us have built into our recuperative rituals to both protect and improve our mental health in challenging times.”

The dusty shade of purple is reminiscent of the French countryside, making it the perfect match for our Juliette collection. Our custom colour service makes it easy to transform any piece into a Digital Lavender dream. Whether it’s a shabby chic bed headboard, a chest of drawers or a complete set, embracing colour-driven furniture trends has never been easier.

Convivial seating

With the worst of the pandemic behind us, people are not only desperate to travel but to socialise with family and friends. In 2023, furniture trends that spark conversation and bring people back together will take centre stage. Round dining tables are enjoying a renaissance, as are dining benches that create a casual and social atmosphere.
